Dies; Rites
Friday At 10

James Christian Andersen,
71, 1710 Eight Ave. E., died
Monday evening.
Mr. Andersen was born Feb.
19, 1897, in Denmark. When he
was two he moved with his family
to Racine, Wis., where he
spent his early life.
May 3, 1917, he joined the
Navy at Milwaukee, Wis., and
served until received his hon-
orable discharge Sept. 25, 1919
at Mare Island, Calif. He then
moved to Wyoming, where he
worked for a Railroad and had
also been employed at an air-
base.
Oct. 1, 1943, he re-enlisted
in the Navy and served as a
Gunners Mate 1. C. until
discharged Jan. 26, 1945.
He returned to Wyoming and
later moved to Montana where
he was employed by the National
Park Service at Glacier National
Park until his retirement about
six years ago.
Mr. Andersen was a member
of the Masonic Lodge of Casper,
Wyo.
April 13, 1951, he was married
to Dorothy Cooper at Kali-
spell and is survived by her at
the family home; one son Rob-
ert Donald Andersen, Seattle;
two daughters, Christine and
Mary Andersen, at the family
home; two brothers, Charles
Andersen, Detroit, Mich., and
Walter Andersen, Chicago; two
sisters, Mrs. Laura Mortensen
and Mrs. Edna Kosterman, Ra-
cine, Wis. and a number of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. An-
dersen will be conducted in the
Johnson Chapel at 10 a. m. Fri-
day with the Rev. Charles Now-
len, pastor of the Epworth Meth-
odist Church, officiating. Inter-
ment will be in the Conrad
Memorial Cemetery with mili-
tary graveside rites by veter-
ans of World War I.
