LeRoy H. Hansen, 100, of Elk Mountain, Wyoming died Monday August 15, 2011
at Spring Wind Assisted Living.

He was born June 24, 1911 in Elk Mountain, Wyoming the son of Fred and Nellie (Allison) Hansen.
He grew up in Elk Mountain; however attend school in Englewood, graduating from
Englewood High School. He married Evelyn R. Christensen in Denver, Colorado
November 24, 1936 and they resided at Elk Mountain. In Elk Mountain he owned
the Elk Mountain Trading Company with his sister, which his father had operated
prior to that. He also served as assistant Postmaster at Elk Mountain.
He enjoyed anything outdoors, skiing, hunting, fishing and golf.

He was a member of the Hanna Lodge A.F. & A.M., the Korein Shrine of Rawlins
and the Elk Mountain I.O.O.F. Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn in 1997, his daughter
Judy Hornbeck in 2004, and two sisters, Emma and Merle.
He is survived by his son Bill Hansen and his wife Dee of The Woodlands,
TX; his son-in-law, John Hornbeck of Sheridan, WY; his sister Phyllis Wakkuri
of Wheatland, WY; four grandchildren, David Hornbeck and his wife Kim of Casper, WY;
Scott Hornbeck of Ft. Collins, CO; Brett Hansen and his wife Lindsay of Scottsdale, AZ
and Carrie Victor and her husband Dan of The Woodlands, TX; his five great grandchildren,
Tyler Hansen, Conner Hansen, Will Victor, Maddie Hornbeck and Max Hornbeck;
and various nieces and nephews.
In the last ten years of his life his best friend was Kitty, his cat.

Funeral services will be held Thursday August 18 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's
Episcopal Cathedral with the Very Reverend Marilyn Engstrom officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
